A journey full of national and academic contributions
Dr. Mufid Shehab is considered one of the most prominent figures in international law in the Arab world, as he has built an exceptional career that began in the corridors of Cairo University, which he later headed.

The deceased had held the bench at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague since 1988, and served as Director of the Institute of International Business Law, in addition to his prestigious advisory role in the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development.
Champion of the “Taba” legal battle
The late’s giving was not limited to the academic and ministerial aspects; His name was associated with one of the most important diplomatic and legal victories in Egypt’s modern history, through his pivotal role in the “Taba Arbitration Negotiations,” in which his legal efforts with the Egyptian team succeeded in restoring this precious part of Sinai land to full Egyptian sovereignty.
At the governmental level, Dr. Shehab provided a model in political and legal administration while holding important ministerial portfolios, which included the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Shura Council Affairs, and the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Parliamentary Councils, leaving a legal and administrative legacy that will remain a reference for future generations.
