Mamdouh Gamal, the lawyer and representative of the student, Hossam Ismail Mahmoud, spokesman for the Egyptian Al-Samoud Fleet and a student at the Faculty of Information, Cairo University, commented on the news of his client’s re-registration, stressing that the student went today to the university to find out his official position, but he has not found any final decision to reinstate him yet.

Mamdouh Gamal said in exclusive statements to Cairo 24 that the expulsion decision still stands, explaining that the student came to the college in search of his academic schedule, but without finding any document confirming the activation of the re-enrollment decision.

Lawyer for the spokesman for the Egyptian Al-Samoud Fleet: We have not received an official decision to re-register the student and are waiting for the situation to be resolved

Mamdouh Gamal referred to a series of legal procedures he had taken over the past weeks, saying: On October 19, 2025, I went as the student’s representative to find out about the college’s decision, but Legal Affairs stated that it was necessary to submit a request to obtain a copy of the dismissal decision, which we actually did. On the same day, Dr. Dean of the College of Information came to us and officially informed us that the college had recommended the student’s return out of concern for his future, while stressing that any delay would not affect the upcoming midterm exams.

He added: On October 28, 2025, the student received a call from a person who introduced himself as from the university administration, and informed him that the problem had been resolved and his enrollment had been re-enrolled. The student immediately went to the college, and the information was confirmed by the college dean for student affairs, but in the end he was told that the university council had not yet ratified the decision.

He pointed out that on November 17, 2025, the student went to the university president’s office to inquire about the final decision, but was surprised by conflicting statements. The secretary of the university president confirmed that solving the problem is within the powers of the Faculty of Information, while the office of the vice dean of the college maintained that the recommendation is dependent on the ratification of the university president.

Mamdouh Gamal confirmed that on November 18, 2025, his client submitted a new official request to the President of Cairo University, registration number (5/1900), requesting that he be officially re-enrolled in the Faculty of Information, English Language Division, in addition to forming a special committee to enable him to take the exams that he missed in order to preserve his educational future.

The student’s agent concluded his statements by saying: We are waiting for a clear decision from the university to resolve the student’s case, after it was confirmed that there was a recommendation from the college for his return, and we hope that the student will not be harmed due to conflicting administrative procedures.

An official source at Cairo University previously revealed the truth about what was circulated about the dismissal of the student, Hossam Mahmoud, spokesman for the Egyptian Resilience Fleet and a student at the Faculty of Mass Communications, stressing that what is published about the college’s intransigence in re-enrolling him is completely incorrect.

The source confirmed, in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that the Council of the Faculty of Information officially approved the re-enrollment of the student on October 20, 2025, noting that the student and the lawyer accompanying him were informed of the decision to re-enroll immediately upon its issuance.

He added that the re-enrollment procedures actually began on October 13 through the college’s Education and Student Affairs Committee, and culminated in final approval at the College Council meeting on October 20, explaining that both the student and his lawyer have been fully aware of these procedures since October 13.
