The French RMC network revealed a list of three prominent names nominated to take over as coach of Olympique Marseille, succeeding the Italian Roberto De Zerbi, after his departure from the technical leadership of the team.

Walid Regragui is a candidate to coach Olympique Marseille in France

According to what was reported by the RMC Sport network, the Southern Club is studying several options to take over the job during the coming period, the most prominent of which is Walid Al-Rakraki The coach of the Moroccan national team, Habib Paye, and Sergio Conceicao, as the administration seeks to quickly settle on a new coach to lead the team in the next stage.

The network indicated that Habib Paye is considered the most likely candidate to take charge, but the current obstacle is that the procedures for his departure from Rennes have not been officially completed, after he was dismissed at the beginning of this week, as negotiations are still ongoing regarding the financial terms for terminating his contract, and the name of the Senegalese coach was strongly proposed following Marseille’s loss to Club Brugge in the Champions League.

The report added that Croatian Igor Todor also enjoys support within the club, although his return seems unlikely due to his previous unsuccessful experience with the team during the 2022-2023 season, noting that he has become a free-lance coach since his departure from Juventus in 2025.

The Portuguese Sergio Conceicao, the current coach of Al-Ittihad Jeddah, also remains among the names proposed, especially since the Marseille administration had previously made an official offer to him before contracting with De Zerbe in the summer of 2024.

The network concluded its report by noting that Walid Regragui is appreciated within the club’s corridors, which makes him one of the strongly proposed options to lead the team during the coming period.
