The Ministry of Transport published a new film on its official Facebook page, entitled A Citizen’s Journey from Adly Mansour Station to the New Capital, as part of its plan to expand the use of modern public transportation and reduce reliance on private cars.
The video shows the increasing demand among workers in the New Administrative Capital for employment Light electric train LRT is used in their daily commute, whether going to or returning from their work headquarters, in light of the speed and regularity of trips it provides.
The film also highlights the dependence of a large segment of people who frequent the Administrative Capital from the cities of eastern Cairo, such as Obour, Shorouk, Badr, Mostaqbal, and New Heliopolis, on the light electric train as the main means of transportation, in addition to its use by those heading to the Adly Mansour interchange station, which is considered one of the largest transportation centers in Egypt and includes several modern and integrated means of transportation.
The video also showed the heavy use of the parking lots surrounding the electric train stations, as many citizens prefer to leave their private cars and complete their trips by train, in a step that reflects the gradual shift towards more efficient means of mass transportation.
These efforts come within the Ministry of Transport’s strategy to enhance reliance on the sustainable transportation system, which contributes to reducing traffic congestion, reducing fuel consumption, and improving the quality of life for citizens.
