The Ministry of Transport revealed recent aerial photographs showing the progress of work on the project to establish the “Long Live Misr 2” multi-purpose station on Berth 100 in Dekheila Port, as part of the “Know Information About Your Country’s Projects” report, which reviews ongoing national projects.

Aerial footage showed the completion of the infrastructure work for the station and the start of implementation of the superstructure, as it is built on an area of about 840,000 square metres, and includes a berth 1,200 meters long and 18 meters deep, with a capacity of up to 1.5 million equivalent containers annually, with the largest portion allocated to transit containers.

The project aims to strengthen the port’s position as a pivotal center for transit trade in the Mediterranean, with its ability to receive giant ships with a length of up to 400 meters and a load of up to 24 thousand containers, in addition to providing more than 2,000 direct and indirect job opportunities.

The project is one of the main components of the Sokhna-Alexandria integrated logistics axis for containers linking the Red and Mediterranean Bahrain, which the state is implementing to enhance the efficiency of supply chains and international trade movement.
