Details of the Alexandria Governor’s tour
This came during a field tour, today, Sunday, within the Bakos area in the Sharq neighbourhood, where the tour included passing through Bakos Market Street and Cinema Night Street and their branches.
The Governor of Alexandria passed by the butcher shops on Cinema Lily Street and inspected the meat in the stores to ensure its suitability and issued reports for the violating shops.
The Governor of Alexandria directed the removal of all illegal lighting connections and encroachments by street vendors on the public road, urging the head of the Sharq district to continuously follow up and prevent attempts to return to encroachments and occupations again.
The tour also included an inspection of the Bakos Market Street and the Bakos slides and the removal of street vendors’ encroachments on it, as the governor stressed the removal of all encroachments and occupancies and the rapid intensification of public cleaning work, especially in light of the overcrowding of commercial shops in the area, assigning the head of the Sharq district to review the licenses of the shops located in the side streets.
The Governor of Alexandria directed the Traffic Department to take the necessary measures to direct traffic in the streets and to seize illegal and randomly parked vehicles that hinder traffic.
The Governor of Alexandria stressed that restoring discipline to the streets requires the combined efforts of citizens and executive agencies.
The governor also directed the director of the Roads Directorate, in coordination with the neighborhood, to repair potholes on Market Street and raise the efficiency of its paving.
This comes within the framework of monitoring field conditions and ensuring the discipline of Alexandria Street and markets and the availability of basic goods of appropriate quality and fair prices for citizens, in addition to removing all occupancy and violations.
