He confirmed in a video clip published by the Alexandria Governorate on Sunday that Malak Hefny Street will become an important artery to the heart of the city, linking the Montazah and Victoria areas back and forth to support the daily movement of citizens.
The Governor of Alexandria explained that the start of the Malak Hefny Street development plan comes after the completion of the Alexandria Metro project, which is currently being worked on, which will bring a qualitative shift to the east of the city.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled added that the city of Alexandria depends on longitudinal axes represented by the Corniche Road, the Freedom Road known as Abu Qir Street, and the Raml Tram Line known as the Zarqa Tram, in addition to the newly added Mahmoudiya axis, noting that traffic problems are related to their geographical nature.
He added that the lack of cross arteries is the focus of congestion, which must be worked on to absorb traffic density, noting that Alexandria Governorate is working to repair the defects within the framework of an integrated plan.
He pointed out the importance of the Malak Hafny Street expansion project, as it will reflect an integrated plan aimed at improving the quality of life and transportation in parallel with mass transit projects, the first of which is the Alexandria Metro.
