Major General Tariq Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, opened this morning the Continuing and Adult Education Center at Al-Sayyeda Aisha Preparatory School for Girls in the East Mansoura district, in a step that comes within the governorate’s efforts to promote literacy and provide integrated educational opportunities for all citizens.

The opening took place in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Adl, Deputy Governor, Mohamed Attia, Advisor to the Minister of Education and General Supervisor of the Works of the Head of the Executive Body of the General Authority for Adult Education, Engineer Mohamed Al-Rashidi, Director of the Directorate of Education, Dr. Hala Abdel Razzaq, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and Professor Hammad Al-Husseini, Director of the Authority’s branch in Dakahlia, along with representatives of civil society and a number of citizens who benefited from the initiative.

During his inspection of the center, the Governor of Dakahlia stressed that continuing education represents a top priority for achieving comprehensive human development, stressing that Dakahlia seeks to be a governorate without illiteracy, through the expansion of continuing education and adult education centers and providing all support and capabilities to ensure its success.

The governor pointed out that the opening of this center constitutes a pioneering experience to empower citizens and promote community development, through effective cooperation between the General Authority for Adult Education, the Directorate of Education, Social Solidarity, and civil society associations, explaining that the governorate gives this experience all attention to spread it across all centers and cities.

Major General Tariq Marzouk stressed the pivotal role of students in the success of this experiment, by spreading awareness and encouraging more citizens to enroll in educational centers, stressing that Egypt will advance with the help of its children and that science is the bridge to the progress of nations. He called on citizens to continue their educational journey until obtaining a university qualification, considering that awareness and education are the true path to the advancement of society.

The governor added that the conscious citizen becomes an active partner with the state in preserving its resources and achieving sustainable development, pointing to the important role of Egyptian women in raising generations and bearing responsibility for development, and the great interest the state gives to them within various presidential initiatives.

For his part, the director of the branch of the General Authority for Adult Education in Dakahlia explained that the new center provides distinguished educational services through equipped classrooms and flexible educational curricula suitable for different ages, and with trained educational staff, stressing that the center currently includes 45 students in the first year of middle school, 11 students in the second year, and 5 students in the third year to complete the preparatory stage in the home system.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Governor of Dakahlia handed over school bags and textbooks to the students, assuring them that determination and persistence are the path to success, and that the governorate will continue its support for all educational initiatives within the Decent Life Program.
