revealed study A recent Australian study revealed that regular drinking of tea may contribute to enhancing bone density in women, compared to those who rely mainly on coffee. This was conducted by researchers from Flinders University, who followed the health status of about 10,000 women over a period of ten years, while monitoring changes in bone mineral density among tea and coffee drinkers.

A recent study: A daily cup of tea strengthens women’s bones

According to the scientific journal Nutrients, bone mineral density is an important indicator of the likelihood of developing osteoporosis, a disease that affects one in three women over the age of fifty, and causes millions of fractures annually around the world. Given that tea and coffee are among the most consumed beverages daily, researchers stressed the importance of understanding their impact on bone health.

The results of the study showed that tea contains natural compounds known as catechins, which help slow the loss of bone density and support its formation. In contrast, laboratory tests showed that coffee may hinder calcium absorption and negatively affect bone metabolism.

Dr. Eno Liu, from the Faculty of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University, said that any improvement in bone density may be reflected in a decrease in fracture rates, explaining that the results do not mean complete abstention from coffee or excessive drinking of tea, but rather moderation in consumption.

The researchers concluded that one cup of tea a day, especially in older women, may be more than just a convenient habit, but rather a simple step towards maintaining stronger bones and better health.
