The Ministry of Transport issued a media statement denying, through various media outlets, that the value of an 8-pound metro ticket had increased to 10 pounds due to the lack of change.
Transportation: There is absolutely no reason to increase the price of a metro ticket
In its statement, the Ministry confirmed the following:
1. No decision has been taken to increase the price of the metro ticket at any time or by any value
2. Increasing ticket prices is subject to a strict system and comprehensive plan and is approved by the Council of Ministers
3. There is no intention or intention to raise metro ticket prices.
4. Change is available in sufficient quantities at the ticket counters on all three metro lines and the LRT.
5. The Ministry of Transport, represented by the National Tunnel Authority, provides various means of payment in the network of the three metro lines and the light electric train (LRT), with the aim of making it easier for citizens and saving time and effort, especially during peak times when the number of passengers increases (monthly and seasonal subscriptions – electronic wallet cards – automatic ticket vending machines TVM – tickets for the united journey – electronic payment service through Visa at all ticket exchange offices and subscription offices on the first and second lines).
