In a new successful security strike against drug dealers, the security services of the Luxor Security Directorate, represented by the Luxor Police Department Investigation Unit, were able to arrest a highly dangerous criminal element in the Al-Ammari facility area, in possession of large and varied quantities of narcotic substances before promoting them to his clients.

Security notification and careful investigations

The details of the incident are due to Major General Mohamed Al-Sawy, Assistant Minister of the Interior and Director of Luxor Security, receiving a security notification from Major General Taha Khater, Director of Criminal Investigation in the Directorate.

The notification stated that confidential information had been received by criminal investigation officers, indicating that the so-called “A.M.”, 35 years old, unemployed and residing in the Al-Ammari facility area in Al-Bandar district, and who had previous criminal information, was engaging in extensive criminal activity in the field of drug trafficking.

The fall of the accused and the seizures

After codifying the procedures and obtaining permission from the competent authorities, a large security mission moved under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Nassef, head of the Bandar Luxor Investigation Department.

By preparing the necessary ambushes and tightening the noose, the investigation officers succeeded in catching the accused red-handed.

When he was searched, an arsenal of narcotic materials was found in his possession, which included: 500 tablets of the narcotic drug Captagon, 2 kilograms of cannabis essence, and 20 grams of the narcotic banjo plant. A knife-bladed weapon, a sum of money, and a mobile phone were also seized from his possession.

Confessions and legal proceedings

Confronting the accused with the results of the seizure and search, he acknowledged the validity of the investigations and admitted to possessing various narcotic substances for the purpose of trafficking and illegal profit. He also admitted that the amount of money was from the proceeds of selling drugs, the mobile phone he used to communicate with “customers,” and the knife to cut narcotic substances and for self-defense.

The necessary report on the incident was prepared, and the Public Prosecution was notified, which took over the investigations under the supervision of the Attorney General of the Luxor Prosecution Office.
