US President Donald said TrumpThe United States will respond very strongly if Canada concludes a trade agreement with China, according to media reports.
Trump added in his statements to reporters on board his presidential plane: If they conclude an agreement with China, we will respond very strongly. We don’t want China to take over Canada. If they make the deal he seeks, China will take over Canada.
Concluding new trade deals with China
Earlier this week, Trump warned both Britain and Canada against concluding new trade deals with China, following the visit of the leaders of the two countries to Beijing last month in an attempt to deepen relations with the second largest economy in the world.
Trump said: It is very dangerous for them to do this, stressing that the situation will be more dangerous for Canada, saying: Canada is not going well. It is in a very bad situation, and China cannot be seen as the solution.
