The First Circuit of Terrorism, held in Badr, headed by Counselor Mohamed Al-Saeed El-Sherbiny, decided today to reserve the trial of 37 defendants, in Case No. 7801 of 2023, state security felonies, known as the Assembly Cell for Judgment.

The referral order stated that, in the period from 2013 until March 19, 2023, all of the defendants joined a terrorist group by joining the ISIS group, which aims to commit terrorist crimes and calls for changing the regime by force, attacking individuals and public facilities for the purpose of disrupting the provisions of the Constitution and the law, preventing state institutions from carrying out their work, attacking the personal freedoms of citizens and public freedoms and rights, and harming national unity and social peace. Terrorism was one of the means used by this group in achieving Its purposes, and the first, second, thirty-fourth, and thirty-sixth defendants received training to achieve the goals of that group.

The referral order added that the defendants from the first to the third, from the fifth to the tenth, from the fourteenth to the seventeenth, from the nineteenth to the twenty-third, from the twenty-sixth to the thirty-fifth, and from the thirty-third to the thirty-fifth, committed the crime of financing terrorism, and the financing was for a terrorist group and for terrorists, by collecting, receiving, possessing, supplying, transporting, and providing funds, documents, headquarters, and food to the group that is the subject of the accusation.

The referral order also stated that the first, second, thirty-fourth, and thirty-sixth defendants received training in using weapons, disassembling and assembling them, and training in guerrilla warfare, with the intention of committing terrorist crimes at home and abroad.

He pointed out that the first, fifth, seventh, thirty-fourth, and thirty-fifth defendants used two websites on the international information network, using the “WhatsApp” and Telegram applications, for the purpose of exchanging messages and assignments related to their terrorist acts at home and abroad.
