A short while ago, 16 electoral committees opened their doors to lawyers, voters in Sohag Governorate, to cast their votes in the Bar Association by-elections, which begin today, Saturday, amid a disciplined organizational and electoral atmosphere.

The elections are held under full judicial supervision, headed by Counselor Mohamed Hamed Diab, Chairman of the General Committee in Sohag supervising the Bar Association elections, within the framework of the Bar Association’s keenness to uphold the values of integrity and transparency, and to ensure the integrity of the electoral process, in a way that guarantees lawyers the freedom to choose their representatives.
Salah Darwish, Director General of the Sohag Bar Association, confirmed that the elections are being held through 16 subcommittees distributed at the governorate level, during which 4 candidates compete for the captain’s seat, 12 candidates for the youth seat, and 48 candidates for 12 district court seats.
For his part, Mr. Jaber, a member of the General Syndicate of Egyptian Lawyers and the supervisor of the elections, explained that the number of those entitled to vote reached 11,044 members, stressing that the committees receive voters from nine in the morning until five in the evening, with a census being compiled in the General Committee in Sohag.
