A gang formation specialized in stealing electricity cables and poles was seized
This rapid security move came to stop repeated attacks on public property and basic facilities that serve citizens daily in various villages.
Details of the gang’s arrest
The Criminal Investigation Department formed a specialized research team to collect information and track down suspects as soon as repeated theft incidents were detected.
Careful investigations and field work resulted in identifying the members of this gang formation and their hiding places.
After codifying the procedures, a security force moved to arrest the accused in pre-prepared ambushes, where part of the stolen items and equipment used to commit the crime were found in their possession.
Quick response to family reports
During the recent period, several villages affiliated with the Esna Center recorded thefts targeting lighting poles and electricity transformers, which affected the efficiency of services.
These thefts prompted people to submit official reports to the competent authorities, which necessitated intensifying the security presence and deploying night patrols to uncover the circumstances of these incidents, arrest the perpetrators, and prevent the recurrence of such violations in the future.
Legal procedures and completion of investigations
Immediately after being confronted with the evidence and seized items, the defendants admitted to committing a series of thefts in the area to sell and profit from them. Based on these confessions, the police took all necessary legal measures against them.
The accused were referred to the investigating authorities, which conducted investigations in preparation for bringing them to trial. At the same time, security teams continue their intensive efforts to arrest the rest of the fleeing gang members and recover the remaining stolen items, to ensure the security of vital services and the stability of the electrical current in the Esna Center.
These moves come within the Ministry of Interior’s strategy to control outlaws and protect public facilities from vandalism.
