The competition witnessed wide participation by memorizers of the Holy Qur’an of all ages, as participants competed in several branches that included memorizing the entire Qur’an, half of it, and various parts, in addition to special competitions for good recitation and rules of intonation, amid the presence of a large crowd of people from the village, villages, and neighboring centers.
The organizers of the competition confirmed that the event aims to restore the village of Shatoura to its position known as the “State of Recitation,” due to the great reciters and sheikhs it has produced throughout its history, noting that the competition is a clear message of the importance of the societal role in nurturing Qur’anic talents, regardless of any material considerations.
The organizers added that a jury was formed of sheikhs specialized in the sciences of the Qur’an and Tajweed to ensure integrity and transparency, with valuable prizes allocated to the winners and honoring all participants to encourage them to continue.
It is worth noting that hundreds of talented people of both sexes, old and young, from all over the governorate have participated so far, and the qualifying rounds continue even before the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
