The Egyptian National Railway Authority announced the average expected delays and delays in traffic Trains Today, Thursday, January 15, 2026, in a new warning addressed to the passenger public.
The authority explained in a post on its official page on the social networking site “Facebook” that these delays are due to the comprehensive development work underway on a number of railway lines, which aims to enhance safety and security factors and raise the level of services provided to travelers.
Average delays on railway lines
Cairo – Tanta line: 15 minutes
Tanta – Alexandria line: 10 minutes
Cairo – Assiut line: 60 minutes
Assiut – Aswan line: 60 minutes
Banha – Port Said line: 45 minutes
Tanta – Mansoura – Damietta line: 45 minutes
Qalyoub – Shebin Al-Qanater – Zagazig – Mansoura line: 45 minutes
Tanta – Qalin – Kafr El Sheikh – Sherbin line: 70 minutes
The Authority confirmed its apology to the public passengers for any inconvenience that may result from these delays, explaining that their reasons are due to work challenges at national project sites, which include renovating and maintaining railways, developing slides and stations, and modernizing signaling systems, to ensure safer and more efficient operation in the long term.
