Major General Ibrahim Abu Laymoun, Governor of Menoufia, referred a new corruption incident in one of the rural units affiliated with the center and city of Ashmoun to the Public Prosecution to take action, against the backdrop of tampering with a citizen’s building permit in violation of the law, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to combat corruption and promote the values ​​of integrity within the administrative apparatus.

The referral decision came based on a memorandum submitted by the General Administration of Internal Audit and Governance at the Governorate General Office, as part of continuing efforts to monitor any administrative or financial violations and take the necessary legal measures regarding them without compromise.

Inspection and review of the license documents revealed the presence of tampering and modification in the site validity fee and the number of licensed floors, as it was changed from a ground floor and 3 upper floors to a ground floor and 4 upper floors, in violation of the building’s advisory report, the attached engineering drawing, and the laws regulating construction work.

The Governor of Menoufia affirmed that the governorate will continue to crack down on all elements of corruption, stressing that those who tamper with official documents with the intention of fraud or fraud to achieve illegal gains will not be tolerated, while taking deterrent legal measures to preserve the rights of citizens and the rule of law.
