In a new episode of the program “Women Have a Share,” Dr. Donia Abu Al-Khair reviewed the story of the great companion Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, and the reasons for naming him with this prestigious title.

She explained that the title “The Friend” came as a result of his sincere and firm belief in the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the message of Islam from its beginning. He was also an example of honesty in word and deed, and he never hesitated to support the truth, even in the most difficult circumstances.

She referred to his most prominent stances, such as his accompanying the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, in the migration to Medina and risking his life in order to protect his message, stressing that these stances were what made the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, call him “the Friend,” which is one of the greatest titles of the Companions and the most indicative of faith and loyalty.
