Suhair Ramzi Zabadi, the mother of the child Muhammad and his sister Aisha, revealed the details of her crisis with her ex-husband, Magdy Karam, after a video clip was circulated on social networking sites that sparked widespread controversy about the incident of arresting two children and forcibly taking one of them in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.
The child’s mother said, in a statement, that she preferred not to talk about the details of family disputes on social media, as they are private family matters. However, circulating the incident and listening to one party’s account, according to her, prompted her to break her silence to clarify the truth of what happened.
She explained that she separated from her husband some time ago in a friendly atmosphere between the two families, indicating her commitment to continuing the relationship until the last moments in order to preserve the interests of her children and not deprive them of their father, but the separation occurred because of his desire to marry another woman.
She added that after the separation, she agreed to stay with her children in the same house, before she was later surprised by the request that she leave the residence and move to another house. She was then prevented from entering the house again after her father’s temporary travel, which forced her to stay with her family.
She continued that she allowed the father to host the children, where they stayed with him for four months, but she was surprised on the first day of school by being prevented from picking up her son Muhammad from school, and by her rejection of an agreement requiring the child to stay away from her throughout the week.
The child’s mother confirmed that, despite what she was exposed to, she did not prevent the father from seeing his children, aware of the impact of deprivation on children, pointing out that she was preparing to perform Umrah, and informed her ex-husband of the possibility of checking on his son, before she was surprised by the circulation of the controversial video.
She expressed her shock at the incident, stressing that she did not imagine that her son would be exposed to a situation that would cause him a state of terror, noting that the comments being circulated greatly harmed her psychological state.
She concluded her statement by emphasizing that her speech was not aimed at gaining sympathy, but rather to clarify the whole truth, saying: “Our Lord is a witness to everything I went through.”
The security services at the Ministry of Interior had revealed the circumstances of a post supported by a video clip circulated on social media sites, which included a person getting out of a car in which another person was traveling, arresting two children, and kidnapping one of them after the second child resisted him in Kafr El-Sheikh.
Through examination, it was possible to identify and arrest the person shown in the video clip (the father of the child who was kidnapped) and the car and its driver (the first’s friend). By confronting them, the first admitted that when he saw his son with the other child, he forcefully took him because there were disputes between him and his ex-wife, “the child’s mother,” and the car driver confirmed the above.
The kidnapped child was released, the car was seized, and legal measures were taken against the perpetrator of the incident.
