The Ministry is currently racing against time to complete the final version of the “National Strategy for Occupational Safety and Health,” in preparation for its official adoption during Labor Day celebrations in May 2026, to be a clear message that the Egyptian state places the worker at the heart of its priorities, and confirms its move forward in building the new republic with safe hands and a work environment of international standards.

The Minister of Labor, Mohamed Gibran, confirmed that following the adoption of the “National File for Occupational Safety and Health” in April 2025, which received wide international praise and was officially included on the platform of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Ministry began the actual implementation phase to transform challenges into opportunities, noting that this file directly contributed to improving the image of the Egyptian state within international labor forums, identifying and enhancing strengths, addressing shortcomings and turning them into strong starting pillars, as well as building strategic partnerships with the ILO and national partners from representatives Business owners and workers.

The Minister explained that the Ministry of Labor is currently putting the final touches on the “National Strategy for Occupational Safety and Health,” which came as a result of an intensive series of workshops and technical discussions with international experts and local partners, and aims to reduce the rates of work accidents and occupational injuries through modern oversight mechanisms, provide a decent work environment that contributes to raising production efficiency, support the national economy, and establish a culture of safety as an integral part of the Egyptian work system.

Gibran added that this move is not just a regulatory measure, but rather represents a fundamental pillar of the implementation of Egypt’s Vision 2030, and reflects the state’s commitment to ensuring the dignity and safety of the worker as it is the main driver of the sustainable development process.
