Today, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathi witnessed the signing ceremony of the partnership agreement between the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion and Reed Exhibitions, the organizing company of the World Travel Market London (WTM London), making Egypt a major partner of the stock exchange for the year 2026, coinciding with the opening of the “Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs” antiquities exhibition in the British capital, London.

The partnership agreement was signed by Dr. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, and Chris Carter‑Chapman, Director of Events at the London International Tourism Exchange.

This came during the minister’s visit to the British capital to open the “Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs” antiquities exhibition in its seventh stop, which will last until August 30, when the official signing ceremony was held at Battersea Power Station in London.

The Minister stressed that this partnership reflects Egypt’s strategic vision in consolidating its position as one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the world, noting that through this partnership, the Ministry’s vision and strategy will be promoted, which comes under the slogan “Egypt… incomparable diversity,” which highlights the exceptional richness and unique diversity of tourism experiences that Egypt offers to its visitors.

He added that the remarkable growth achieved during the year 2025 in the rates of tourist traffic arriving at the Egyptian tourist destination from various markets confirms the Ministry’s commitment to expanding its international presence and strengthening its partnerships in the main targeted markets.

He also stressed the importance of signing this partnership in conjunction with the opening of the “Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs” exhibition in London, which reflects the strength of Egypt’s international presence and the importance of building strategic partnerships to support and enhance its tourism status globally.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Youssef explained that the WTM London Stock Exchange played a pivotal role in supporting Egypt’s position as one of the most prominent, diverse and rich tourist destinations in the world, stressing the authority’s keenness to benefit from its status as a major partner to promote the Egyptian tourist destination to broader segments of tourism markets and different types of travellers.

While Chris Carter-Chapman expressed his happiness with the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion as a major partner in this early stage of the planning cycle, he expressed his aspiration for joint work during the coming months to support Egypt’s tourism goals and contribute to achieving the goal of receiving 30 million tourists by 2031.

This partnership includes an integrated advertising package during the WTM London 2026 events, including an extensive digital presence through external promotional campaigns and on the stock exchange’s home page, including Egypt’s logo exclusively on the meetings platform and the stock exchange’s official application, in addition to highlighting the Egyptian visual identity in the stock exchange’s most important locations, and on the digital screens at the Prince Regent entrance, giant external banners, and bus and taxi stops.

The agreement also gives the Egyptian tourist destination priority to appear in the stock exchange’s electronic directory, in addition to implementing targeted promotional campaigns before and during the event.

The signing ceremony of the agreement was attended by Dr. Hisham El-Laithi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Rana Gohar, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Communication and External Relations and General Supervisor of the General Administration of International Relations and Agreements, Dr. Gamal Mostafa, Advisor to the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities for Islamic and Coptic Antiquities Affairs, Saeed Shebl, Head of the Central Administration of Museum Stores, Mohamed Mohsen, Director of the Americas and Iberian Peninsula Unit at the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, and Yasmine Samy, First Secretary at the Embassy.
