Dr. Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, held a meeting with Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Capital, to discuss developing executive mechanisms to enhance institutional integration in issues of women’s economic and social empowerment, in light of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to enhance women’s participation in development efforts.

Strengthening institutional integration in economic empowerment issues

Dr. Ahmed Rostom confirmed that Ministry It is working to develop a joint practical framework with the National Council for Women to integrate women’s empowerment priorities into economic development plans and projects, noting that raising the quality of life and achieving social justice will not be complete without the active participation of women in economic activity and public work.

The Minister of Planning and Economic Development indicated that the next phase will witness an expansion of the development of monitoring and evaluation tools to measure the impact of policies on girls and women, in order to ensure inclusive and comprehensive growth.

For her part, Counselor Amal Ammar stressed that the next stage will witness more cooperation and integration between the National Council for Women and the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in a way that enhances the integration of women’s needs into development policies and plans, and she appreciated the fruitful institutional cooperation achieved over the past years.
