Doctor’s generosity Ashraf Sobhi Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and President of the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation, the winning Egyptian university students within the Egyptian delegation that participated in the Tenth World Universities Championship in the Spanish city of Barcelona from 12 to 16 last November, in which 32 countries and 44 international universities participated.
The Ministers of Youth, Sports and Higher Education honor university students who won the World Championship in Barcelona and the Islamic Solidarity Games
The winning students were also honored in the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, which were launched in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, during the period from 7 to 21 last November, with the participation of 57 Islamic countries. This tournament is considered one of the most prominent tournaments that brings together an elite group of athletes. With the aim of enhancing the spirit of competition and exchanging experiences between member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The honoring activities, which were held at the Federation’s headquarters in the University City of Cairo University, were attended by Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Abdel-Wahab Ezzat, Secretary of the Council of Private Universities, Dr. Maher Mesbah, Secretary of the Council of Private Universities, Dr. Amr Allam, Assistant Minister for Institutional Development and Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ahmed Ragheb, Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Student Life and Vice President of the Egyptian Sports Federation for Universities, Dr. Ahmed Kamel, Secretary General of the Federation, and members of the Board of Directors. For his part, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi praised the outstanding achievement of the two tournament delegation, stressing that this success comes within the framework of the continuous support that the state gives to university sports, as part of the political leadership’s vision to advance the sports sector and enhance Egypt’s position on the international sports arena.
The Minister of Youth and Sports added that the Ministry will continue to provide full support to all sports teams in all international forums, whether through integrated preparation programs or support for foreign participation. With the aim of achieving more achievements that raise Egypt’s name globally, he pointed out that this achievement constitutes a strong incentive for the rest of the Egyptian athletes to continue working and excelling in international competitions, reflecting the strength of Egyptian sports and their ability to compete at the global level.
Dr. Ayman Ashour extended his sincere congratulations to the delegation of Egyptian university students that participated in the two tournaments, praising the honorable performance and distinguished results achieved by the students during the competition activities, stressing that these achievements reflect the great development witnessed by university sports in Egypt under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the ability of the students to compete strongly and represent the nation in a way befitting its status on the international arena, expressing his pride and the Ministry’s pride in the honorable achievements achieved, thanking all the coaches and supervisors for their continuous efforts. In preparing students and raising their efficiency, and wishing them continued success in various regional and international tournaments.
Dr. Ayman Ashour also congratulated the members of the Universities Sports Federation for their prominent role in supporting and following up on the mission in the two championships, praising the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Universities Sports Federation in supporting young people and encouraging them to practice sports, and participate in local and international competitions. In a way that contributes to improving the level of university sports and Egyptian sports in general
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Ragheb expressed his pride in the distinguished achievement made by the youth of Egypt in the two championships, which are considered among the most prominent international university sporting events, praising the great efforts made by the students during the stages of preparation and training, and in the course of the competitions, which resulted in these honorable results. He also praised the continuous support provided by the Ministers of Higher Education, Youth and Sports, to the mission throughout the tournament period; Which contributed to achieving this superiority.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Kamel stressed that the success of the delegation in the two championships reflects the intensive efforts made by the students and coaches throughout the preparation and competition period, stressing that these honorable results represent the result of careful planning and continuous support from the Federation, the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, stressing the Federation’s full commitment to continuing to support university athletes and providing all the necessary capabilities for them to achieve more achievements that raise Egypt’s name high at the regional and international levels.
For their part, the university players expressed their pride and happiness with this achievement, stressing that this honor highlights the extent of the state’s continuous support for sports champions in various games, and motivates them to continue providing the best performance in local and international forums.

– The American University won the gold medal and first place in the girls’ basketball championship
– The American University won the silver medal and second place for the 200-meter medley relay team (boys)

– The American University won the bronze medal and the 200-meter freestyle mixed relay team placed third
– The American University won the bronze medal and third place for the 200-meter medley relay team (girls)

– The American University won fifth place in the girls’ table tennis championship
– The American University won sixth place in the 200-meter freestyle relay team (boys)
