Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno met, Minister of Culturea number of content makers and influencers in the fields of culture, heritage and museum structure, to discuss the prospects for joint cooperation in introducing the events, activities and initiatives of the Ministry of Culture and its affiliated museums, and introducing the symbols of Egyptian culture and the specificity of its unique heritage vocabulary, in addition to supporting purposeful cultural initiatives, in a way that contributes to reaching wider segments of young people with a contemporary language and modern digital tools capable of addressing new generations.

The meeting was attended by Ahmed Obaid, Advisor to the Minister of Culture for Investment, Mohamed Talaat, Advisor to the Minister of Culture for Fine and Visual Arts, Sami Ayyad, Advisor to the Minister of Culture for Visual Identity, Dr. Salwa Hamdi, Head of the Central Administration of Museums and Exhibitions in the Fine Arts Sector, and content makers: Ibrahim Al-Jarhi, Amira Sayed Makkawi, Ahmed Diaa, Bashir Shousha, Samar Hassan Youssef, Abdel Rahman Adham Asran, Saba Tariq, Amr Salah, Christina Morcos, Caro Doss, Nesma Hossam, Nevin Mahmoud El Gendy, Fadi Victor, Mustafa Galal Qamari, Marwa Ezz El Din, Marwa Mhanni, Menna Allah Raafat, Hindi Youssef Issa, Mahmoud Shalabi, Mustafa Ali Salem, Hamed El Rahman Mohamed, Ali Hegazy, at the Museum of Islamic Ceramics at the Gezira Center for the Arts.

Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, stressed that the desired role of content makers as partners in digital marketing represents an integral extension of the active role played by the media concerned with cultural affairs, noting that content makers have become one of the influential contemporary tools for introducing Egyptian cultural heritage and presenting it in a renewed and attractive manner.

The Minister of Culture stressed the importance of encouraging and supporting meaningful content that contributes to improving public taste and reflects the cultural values ​​of Egyptian society, by providing positive models and qualitative content that expresses the richness and diversity of Egyptian cultural identity. He stressed the Ministry’s aspiration to build sustainable partnerships with content makers based on producing creative content that keeps pace with the aspirations of young people, and re-presents the cultural and artistic heritage with contemporary visions.

He explained that these partnerships aim to support the cultural and creative industries, most notably the publishing, book, theater, and music industries, in addition to introducing the vocabulary of museum culture and promoting cultural tourism, which contributes to strengthening the status of Egyptian culture regionally and internationally, and consolidating its role as an essential tributary of comprehensive development and human building.

The Minister of Culture indicated that the current stage requires coordination and integration between Egyptian cultural institutions, civil society, media concerned with cultural affairs, and content makers, to build informed awareness and form a positive vision among young people towards their cultural heritage, their creative present, and their future, in a way that supports the Ministry of Culture’s strategy aimed at maximizing the benefit from digital platforms, and enhancing the presence of Egyptian cultural discourse in cyberspace.

For their part, a number of content creators and digital marketing partners expressed their happiness to participate in this meeting, praising the importance of the initiative, which reflects the Ministry of Culture’s awareness of the pivotal role of digital media in communicating with society, especially the youth group. They stressed that opening channels of direct dialogue represents a positive step towards building a true partnership based on the exchange of visions and experiences, appreciating the Ministry’s keenness to support purposeful content that helps present the Egyptian cultural and artistic heritage in a contemporary and attractive manner.

Participants expressed their happiness in cooperating with the Ministry of Culture in promoting various cultural events and activities, introducing museums and their affiliated sites, and highlighting Egyptian cultural and artistic symbols and figures, through producing diverse creative content that relies on modern digital narrative tools, and contributes to expanding the recipient base and enhancing cultural awareness among different age groups.

In the same context, Ahmed Obaid, Advisor to the Minister of Culture for Investment, explained that cooperation with content makers represents an integral part of the new structure of cultural work, noting that the next stage will witness the activation of clear cooperation frameworks to produce more vibrant cultural content, based on an implementable vision and goals, by creating a continuous state of interaction between official cultural institutions and digital platforms, allowing the transformation of events, activities and cultural vocabulary into live materials that can be circulated digitally and reach a wider audience, stressing that the real bet is to build distinct content that motivates young people to approach culture as a contemporary experience.
