Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno honored, Minister of CultureDr. Mahmoud Muslim, journalist writer and member of the Senate, during the Culture Day celebration in its second edition, which is held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, affirming the state’s appreciation for the intellectual and media figures who contributed to building public awareness and supporting the Egyptian cultural scene.

The Ministry of Culture organizes this celebration annually on January 8, with the aim of honoring Egyptian creators, intellectuals, and artists, and highlighting their pivotal role in preserving national identity and enhancing Egypt’s cultural presence on the Arab and international levels, considering culture one of the most important tributaries of the state’s soft power.

The celebration was held on the Grand Theater of the Opera House, organized by the Supreme Council of Culture, headed by Dr. Ashraf Al-Azzazi, and in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Ambassador Wael Al-Najjar, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Cultural Relations, representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Affairs Abroad, along with an elite group of intellectuals, artists, and media professionals.

In his speech, the Minister of Culture stressed that Culture Day represents a national occasion to renew pride in Egyptian creativity, and to celebrate symbols that have enriched cultural, artistic, and intellectual life, and raised Egypt’s name high in Arab and international forums, noting that honoring creators carries a well-deserved message of appreciation, and an incentive to continue supporting them and empowering creative energies, considering culture a basic pillar in building awareness and enhancing belonging.

The celebration witnessed the honoring of a number of the most prominent icons of creativity in the fields of music and singing, including Omar Khairat, Ali Al-Haggar, Medhat Saleh, and Mohamed Tharwat, in appreciation of their distinguished contributions to enriching the Egyptian and Arab music scene.

The honor also included prominent artistic and media personalities, including Suhair Al-Morshedy, Doria Sharaf El-Din, Mohamed Abla, Mohamed Sobhi, and Hussein Fahmy, for their influential role in developing the cultural and artistic scene.
