The trip was only a simple attempt to relieve pain, but it ended in a tragedy that shook everyone’s hearts. Sabah Jadallah, a forty-year-old woman from the village of Al-Jablaw in Qena Governorate, felt severe stomach pain that morning, so she decided to go to an internal medicine doctor in the nearby village of Al-Bayadiya, hoping to quickly return to her home.
The last treatment trip
Her neighbor and relative accompanied her on the trip, and they were not alone; They took two children, a young boy no more than two and a half years old, and an 11-year-old girl, in a simple family scene that did not carry any danger.
According to the narration of the victims’ families to Cairo 24, the medical examination ended, and the two women tried to return to the village of Nag al-Sheikh Rekab in the village of El-Gablaw, but the lack of internal transportation forced them to take a microbus from the Qena-Luxor agricultural highway.
The microbus moved in the evening hours, and within the Al-Shuwaina area in the village of Al-Jablaw, the car suddenly overturned inside the Al-Kalabiya Canal, turning the way back into a tragedy, resulting in the death of all those on board.
The families of the victims confirmed that the Qena-Luxor agricultural road witnesses a noticeable recurrence of accidents, especially during the night periods, attributing this to poor lighting and the absence of safety factors. They demand the speedy lighting of the road and the completion of the dualization project that began about two years ago and was stopped without completion, warning that the continuation of the current situation threatens the lives of citizens daily.
After the accident occurred, the executive and security leaders moved to the site of the microbus overturn, to follow up on the rescue work, where the bodies were recovered and the effects of the accident removed from the road, with an emphasis on providing the necessary support to the families of the victims.
The accident resulted in the deaths of Yassin Khaled Abdel Razzaq Yassin, 23 years old, a driver, Adham Yahya Ahmed Mahmoud, 16 years old, an assistant driver, Sabah Muhammad Ahmed Jadallah, 49 years old, Nima Muhammad Al-Asmar, 31 years old, Radwa Abdel Baset Muhammad Ibrahim, 11 years old, and Hamza Muhammad Abdel Wahab, two and a half years old.
