Google is today launching the Nano Banana 2, also known as Gemini 3.1 Flash Image, shortly after the Gemini 3.1 Pro.

The new version replaces the Nano Banana Pro within the Fast, Thinking and Pro models of the Gemini, in a move aimed at unifying the experience and enhancing performance.

In contrast, Google keeps the Nano Banana Pro available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers to carry out specialized tasks, and it can be accessed via the three-dot menu.

Also, the company is expanding the scope of Nano Banana 2 to reach the artificial intelligence mode in Google search, where it will be available through the Google application and on phone and computer browsers.

Google confirms that Nano Banana 2 combines the extensive knowledge, quality of results, and power of inference that the previous version was known for, but at a much higher speed.

It also allows for quick, sequential edits, taking advantage of real-time information and images from web searches to provide more accurate results when dealing with specific items or topics.

Moreover, the new version shows a deeper understanding that enables him to create infographics, convert notes into graphs, and produce more professional data visualizations.

It also improves the generation of texts within images with accuracy and clarity, and can even translate and localize them to suit the context.

In terms of visual quality, the Nano Banana 2 narrows the gap between speed and detail resolution, delivering realistic photographs with vibrant lighting, richer textures, and sharper details.

He can maintain the likeness of up to five people in a single scene, adhere to the accuracy of up to 14 elements within a single workflow, as well as strictly adhere to complex instructions and capture the smallest details of the ideas at hand.
