The General Authority of Meteorology issued a new statement regarding the details of the case the weather In Egypt today, Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

According to the official statement, the country is witnessing a slight rise in temperatures in most parts, and the weather is cold in the early morning, while it becomes warm during the day in most parts and cold during the night hours.

The authority indicated that water mist will form from 3 to 10 a.m. in areas from the north of the country to Greater Cairo, the canal cities, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai.

The Mediterranean Sea is witnessing a moderate to turbulent weather condition, with waves rising from 2 to 3 metres, while the Red Sea is witnessing a light to moderate weather condition, with waves rising from 1.25 to 1.75 metres.

Expected weather phenomena

In Greater Cairo, South Lower Egypt, and the Canal cities, there are weak chances of light rain, with an incidence of approximately 20% in various areas, and winds are sometimes active at a rate of 30 km/h, which may raise sand and dust on exposed areas, and the weather becomes partly cloudy.

As for the northern coasts, northern Lower Egypt, and the Matrouh Desert, they are witnessing chances of light rain falling in various areas, and wind activity will be at a rate of 36 km/h, which may cause sand and dust on areas of the northwestern coasts and the Western Desert, and the weather will become partly cloudy.

In South Sinai and the Red Sea mountain ranges, moderate wind activity prevails, with a value of 28 km/h, and the weather is sunny. As for North Upper Egypt, moderate wind activity prevails, with a value of km/h, while southern Upper Egypt is dominated by wind activity, at times, with a value of 30 km/h, with sunny weather.
