Major General Engineer Ahmed Ramadan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company in the Canal Governorates, today, Sunday, continued the work of repairing the sudden break in the water pipe feeding Al-Salam Bridge and the village of Abu Arouq in Qantara East, until the repair work was completed and the service was restarted in a short period of time, in order to continue providing better and distinguished services to the citizens of the Canal Region in “Port Said, Ismailia, and Suez.”
Major General Ahmed Ramadan said that immediately after receiving the report of a sudden break in the water pipe supplying Al-Salam Bridge and the village of Abu Arouq in Qantara East, he moved to the location of the report and found that there was a sudden break in the pipe of a 4-inch diameter line connecting from the resettlement station, which has a design capacity of 102 thousand m3/day, which supplies the new and old villages of resettlement and Qantara East, until the repair work was completed by the hands of network workers headed by Mohamed Mamdouh, head of networks. Qantara East, and the service will be restarted in a short period of time for citizens.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Drinking Water and Sanitation in the Canal Governorates stressed the speed of action, immediate response, and provision of all equipment to eliminate any sudden malfunctions or breakages in the main and subsidiary drinking water lines and networks, “with a commitment to implementing occupational safety and health instructions and procedures, in addition to reducing losses through replacement, renewal, and changing the pipe lines of old drinking water networks, from asbestos to PVC pipes of different diameters in the three governorates,” Suez, Ismailia, and Port Said, in order to continue providing better and distinguished services to the citizens of the Canal Region.
Major General Ahmed Ramadan added that he instructed the laboratory teams to withdraw samples of drinking water from packages, water networks and stations, places of worship, schools, cafes, and homes from the “Port Said, Ismailia, and Suez” sectors, and to perform the required analysis and provide a statistical statement of the total number of samples that are taken to perform the required “chemical and microbiological” analyzes daily around the clock, in order to ensure their suitability, in continuation of the implementation of the plan that aims to provide distinguished service. For citizens.
Major General Ahmed Ramadan indicated full readiness to confront any problems that may arise in networks and stations, and pointed to the presence of heads of sectors and regions and general managers of each sector in their work areas and continuous reassurance of the smooth progress of work and immediate dealing with any problems at the time, and the presence of chemists in the company’s laboratories at the level of the three canal governorates to carry out samples from stations, networks and homes on an ongoing basis.
