Today, Wednesday, Major General Ibrahim Abu Laymoun, Governor of Menoufia, witnessed the celebration activities of the 49th anniversary of Menoufia University, in the presence of the Deputy Governor, a number of security, executive and judicial leaders, a group of academic leaders, and faculty members, along with representatives of the House of Representatives and the Senate, within the framework of affirming the university’s national role as a major partner in the comprehensive development process in the governorate.
The celebration activities began with the playing of the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, and then a documentary film was shown that reviewed the history of Menoufia University and its establishment, and highlighted its scientific and academic achievements, the number of its colleges, its role in community service and environmental development, and the development and modernization projects it witnessed for infrastructure and educational and medical facilities during the past years.

Leaders confirmed the universityDuring their speeches, they stated that Menoufia University represents an ancient scientific edifice and a beacon of science and knowledge in the heart of the Delta, noting that the current year witnessed a qualitative shift in the university’s various sectors, which included the development of modern academic programs that keep pace with the requirements of the local and international labor market, in addition to expanding research and service activities, supporting innovation and linking the outcomes of scientific research to societal issues.
It was also emphasized that the university has adopted an ambitious strategy aimed at achieving excellence in education, scientific research and community service, in line with the national strategy for higher education and Egypt’s 2030 vision for sustainable development, in addition to the progress achieved by the university in a number of international classifications, and declaring this year the Year of Quality to establish comprehensive quality standards and institutional accreditation in various sectors.
For his part, the Governor of Menoufia congratulated the university family, including faculty members and students, on the occasion of the annual holiday, stressing the depth of the historical relationship between the governorate and the university as a distinguished educational edifice and a true partner in development plans, an essential supporter of community and development work, praising its role in preparing generations capable of creativity, facing the challenges of the present and creating the future.
At the conclusion of the celebration, a number of university leaders and outstanding faculty members and students were honored, in addition to honoring a number of those who were retired and those who died during their service, in appreciation of their giving and efforts in serving the university and society.
