Dr. Mohamed Hani Ghoneim, Governor of Beni Suef, directed the Water and Sanitation Company to quickly take urgent and radical technical solutions to the problem of repeated blockage and overflow of sewage water in Ezbet Abu Al-Qasim in the village of Al-Koum Al-Ahmar, affiliated with Nasser Center, while monitoring the situation on the ground to prevent a recurrence of the crisis.
This came during the weekly open meeting held by the governor with the citizens, where he listened to the complaints of a number of village residents regarding the recurrence of sewage overflows, despite the implementation of repair work more than once, and the daily suffering and health risks this causes to the residents.
During the discussion of the complaint, officials of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Company reported that repair work is currently underway, in parallel with launching an operation to conduct soil surveys in some areas that suffer from land subsidence, which leads to the network lines and pipes being exposed to frequent breakage.
The governor stressed the need to quickly complete the necessary technical solutions, and develop a vision that prevents the recurrence of malfunctions in the future, stressing that the sanitation file is a priority for executive work, because of its direct impact on citizens’ health and quality of life.
The governor confirmed that the relevant executive agencies are following up on the implementation of the mandates issued during the weekly meetings, while continuing to communicate with citizens and monitoring any new complaints to ensure that they are quickly dealt with and resolved according to the available capabilities.
