Magdy Khater, brother of teacher Ahmed Khater, son of the village of Kafr Ashma, affiliated with the Martyrs Center in Menoufia Governorate, announced the success of the lung transplant operation that his brother underwent outside Egypt, following a broad popular campaign that succeeded in collecting about 15 million pounds to provide for treatment expenses. He confirmed in exclusive statements to Cairo 24 that Ahmed’s health condition is currently stable and he is undergoing medical follow-up in the hospital.

Magdy Khater explained that sister He had been suffering for a long time from complete lung fibrosis, which caused his health condition to deteriorate significantly, and affected his ability to breathe and practice his daily life, until his condition reached a critical stage that required urgent surgical intervention, which prompted the family to travel him outside the country for a lung transplant.
His brother pointed out that the operation lasted for long hours inside the operating room, and a large medical team of about 50 doctors from various medical specialties participated in it, given the accuracy and seriousness of the surgery. He stressed that the doctors informed the family of the success of the operation and that the new lung began to respond well after the surgery.
Magdy Khater confirmed that his brother is still subject to careful medical observation in intensive care to fully ensure the stability of his health condition, pointing out that the initial indicators are reassuring, while the family thanked everyone who contributed to the popular campaign or prayed for him and supported him during the treatment journey, expressing their hope that his condition will improve during the coming days and that the journey of recovery and return to his normal life will begin.
