Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled Hassan, Governor of Alexandria, revealed that the strategic projects in the governorate related to public transportation, whether the Abu Qir train or the development of the tram, are all with the Ministry of Transport, which supervises implementation and planning, pointing out that the completion period for the Abu Qir train is approximately one year, and approximately two years for the development of the Raml tram.
Raml Tram Project in Alexandria
The Governor of Alexandria explained in a special statement to Cairo 24 that strategic projects are proceeding at a steady pace in the field of urban and economic planning, and the Raml Tram Project is considered one of the greatest projects that will change the road map in Alexandria.
The governor revealed that the cost of the train project exceeds 3 billion pounds, and will provide significant employment and change the road map in Alexandria.
This came on the sidelines of press statements during the Alexandria Governor’s inspection of a number of runoff election committees in the Raml district.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled Hassan Saeed, Governor of Alexandria, also followed, from within the governorate’s main operations room, the start of the first day of the runoff round for the 2025 House of Representatives elections in the Raml district, in order to ensure the regularity of the electoral process and provide all means of comfort to voters.
The Governor of Alexandria reassured that all committees would be opened on time and receive voters, directing the concerned executive agencies to the need to continue raising the efficiency of the surroundings of the electoral headquarters, and ensuring the ease of entry and exit of citizens, with an emphasis on providing all facilities for the elderly and people of determination to ensure that they perform their national duty in a safe and organized environment.
