The communication committee was held bFederation of Tourism Chambers An expanded meeting was held in the presence of representatives of the general assemblies of the five tourism chambers, which are tourism companies, hotel establishments, tourist establishments and restaurants, diving and marine activities, and tourist goods and merchandise, in order to discuss the most prominent challenges facing the tourism sector during the current stage, and put forward practical proposals to support its stability and enhance its growth.

At the beginning of the meeting, the committee congratulated Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, on the occasion of renewing confidence in him, wishing him success in completing the process of developing the tourism sector.

Nasser Turki, Vice President of the Federation of Tourism Chambers, stressed that the role of the Communication Committee is to maintain continuous channels of communication with representatives of the General Assemblies, with the aim of presenting the achievements achieved and discussing the existing challenges, noting that the Federation’s Board of Directors succeeded, within a short period, in completing a number of important files that had been pending for years, in addition to following up on other files that require more attention.

He added that there is continuous coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Chamber of Tourism Companies to ensure the stability of the Hajj and Umrah season and avoid any future obstacles.

For his part, Ihab Abdel-Al, Treasurer of the Union, explained that cooperation with ministries and government agencies contributed to solving many problems, most notably tax-related files, through the Dispute Resolution Committee, which succeeded in settling a large number of disputes before resorting to the judiciary.

He also pointed to the development witnessed by the Safe Driving Center, which has turned into a successful model that achieves profits for the first time, and is attracting the interest of local and international bodies in the field of driver training.

In turn, Amr Abu Zeid, member of the Federation’s Board of Directors and Chairman of the Communication Committee, confirmed that the committee represents an open dialogue platform between the Federation’s Board of Directors and the tourism chambers, which contributes to enhancing transparency and exchanging visions. He explained that a comprehensive report will be prepared that includes the most prominent problems and proposals raised during the meeting, to be presented to the Board of Directors, with follow-up on the implementation of the proposed solutions according to specific mechanisms.

The meeting witnessed extensive discussions on the challenges of the Hajj and Umrah season, especially the Ramadan Umrah season, where representatives of the Chamber of Tourism Companies stressed the importance of establishing proactive mechanisms to ensure the regularity of the season. The discussions also addressed the challenges facing hotel establishments, restaurants, and various tourism activities, within the framework of a constructive dialogue aimed at reaching practical solutions that support the stability of the tourism sector and enhance its ability to grow during the coming period.
