Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor, confirmed AssiutContinuing the implementation of intensive monitoring and inspection campaigns in all centers and neighborhoods, within the framework of full coordination between the executive agencies and the concerned authorities, to tighten food control over markets, bakeries, shops and gas stations, ensure the availability of food commodities and their suitability for human consumption, ensure that support reaches those who deserve it, and protect the rights of consumers from commercial fraud, in implementation of the state plan led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to achieve sustainable development goals in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Assiut Governor: Seizing food commodities unfit for human consumption during intensive monitoring campaigns in centers and neighborhoods
The Governor of Assiut stressed taking all legal measures against violators, by issuing the necessary reports and presenting them to the Public Prosecution for consideration and action, while seizing the seized items in accordance with the provisions of the law, to deter anyone who tampers with the health of citizens or trades in their rights.
Major General Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr explained that the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in Assiut, led by accountant Khaled Muhammad, Undersecretary of the Ministry, succeeded during the campaigns in seizing 35 kilograms of unpaid butter in a supermarket, in addition to quantities of frozen meat unfit for human consumption, which included 45 plates of thighs and chicken wings with a total weight of 36 kilograms, in addition to seizing 16 kilograms of tamarind of unknown origin.
The governor added that 3 reports were issued for not keeping invoices for the butter commodity, with a total of 6 cartons weighing 60 kilograms, and 9 bags of subsidized local flour were seized, and 8 other bags for the purpose of reselling them on the black market, in violation of rationary laws and decisions.
The Governor of Assiut indicated that 15 reports were issued for failure of gas warehouses to receive the prescribed quota, in addition to a report of closure and failure to announce one of the warehouses, and 4 reports for failure to announce prices in public stores, in addition to issuing 42 reports for municipal bakeries, which included violations of underweight, production of bread that did not conform to legal specifications, lack of a data plate, failure to clean kneading tools, failure to keep an inspection record, failure to give cash to citizens, and closure. With locks.
The Governor of Assiut renewed his call for citizens to report any complaints or food violations, stressing the allocation of hotlines in the Central Operations Room that operate around the clock to receive citizen reports via the numbers (114), (088/2135858), and (088/2135727), in addition to the unified government complaints system (16528) affiliated with the Council of Ministers, stressing the speed of examining complaints and taking the necessary legal measures regarding them.
