Abu Zahra revealed that Egypt national team coach Hossam Hassan only requested to play a friendly match against Nigeria during the preparation period, confirming that there are attempts to start the national team camp on December 1 to ensure the best possible preparation before the upcoming matches.

He explained that a conversation took place between Hossam Hassan and striker Mustafa Mohamed to clear the atmosphere and confirm the importance of the current stage. He also conveyed the position of Hani Abu Rida, who was keen to wait for Hossam Hassan after the friendly match in Uzbekistan, and told him: “I tried a way of playing in the first half and it did not work, and in the second half the performance was better,” adding that Abu Rida knew that the loss might prevent the coach from sleeping.

Abu Zahra praised Hossam Hassan’s handling of the issue of joining professional players, stressing that he fully understands the dates of the presence of stars such as Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush, in addition to Pyramids players associated with African matches.

He added: “Everything Hossam Hassan requested was fully implemented, and we work within a system that is not governed by sessions or courtesies, but is governed only by regulations.”
