Cairo 24 had previously indicated that a crisis had occurred between the Hand Federation and the regions, due to the percentage of contracts owed to each region.
The handball federation’s regulations stipulate that each region receives 1% of the total value of player registration contracts for clubs affiliated with the region, which did not happen during the last and current season.
The sources confirmed that the Federation’s Board of Directors issued checks to a number of regions in the amount of 550 thousand pounds for each region, but the Federation backed down under pressure from the Federation’s Sports Director and decided to reduce the amount to only 200 thousand pounds.
A number of district heads contacted Handball Federation officials and were surprised by the response that the Federation cannot pay this percentage to the regions at the present time.
A number of district heads confirmed that delaying obtaining the percentage stipulated in the regulations disrupts the workflow due to their inability to spend on district activities and employee salaries.
