Today, Thursday, the Directorate of Health Affairs in Qalyubia Governorate announced that it had raised the level of preparedness to the highest level and dispatched specialized medical personnel to participate in a national mission to support hospitals in North Sinai, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and based on the assignments of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, following the opening of the Rafah land crossing to receive and treat sick and injured Palestinian brothers coming and returning to the Gaza Strip.
Sending medical personnel to hospitals in North Sinai to provide treatment services for those injured in Gaza
The directorate confirmed, in a post on its official newspaper on Facebook, that a number of the governorate’s doctors in various medical specialties, including general surgery, ophthalmology, intensive care, kidneys, radiology, obstetrics and gynecology, and anesthesia, have been assigned to move to North Sinai and Sheikh Zuweid hospitals to reinforce the existing medical staff and provide urgent medical care to the sick and injured.
Dr. Osama Al-Shalakany said, in press statements, that the participation of Qalyubia doctors comes within the humanitarian and national role played by the Egyptian state, as our doctors have always remained in the first ranks during crises, driven by the spirit of responsibility and belonging.
He added: We are facing an honorable humanitarian and national mission, which embodies Egypt’s historical role in supporting our brothers, and I have full confidence in the competence of our doctors and their ability to represent Qalyubia and the Ministry of Health in an honorable manner.
He continued: I recommended to my fellow doctors to live up to the precious trust bestowed upon them by the state, and to perform their duty with team spirit, discipline, and adherence to the highest standards of medical quality, stressing that Egypt has been and will continue to be a support and supporter, and its children in every position of responsibility are a symbol of both strength and compassion.
The Directorate explained that its teams are following up moment by moment on the progress of work, while providing full administrative and logistical support to the participating doctors, in appreciation of their role in performing their national and humanitarian duty.
She indicated that this step comes within an integrated system between health directorates at the republic level, to reflect the readiness of the Egyptian health system and its ability to deal immediately with any developments, stressing Egypt’s permanent role in supporting peace and regional stability.
