The embassy said in a statement: On the occasion of Christmas, the United States Embassy in Cairo will be closed from Tuesday, December 23, and will resume work on Sunday, December 28. The American Center at the embassy will also be closed.

The embassy added: For applicants who had appointments scheduled on December 23 to obtain visa and passport services, these appointments will be postponed, and they will be contacted later to inform them of the rescheduling procedures.
