Orange Egypt affirmed its continued commitment to empowering people with special needs, through its sponsorship of the participation of deaf and hard of hearing teams in the ORCE Robotics Egypt Open Championship, which witnessed the remarkable brilliance of these teams and their success in obtaining several advanced positions despite strong competition among more than a hundred participating teams.

The tournament witnessed an outstanding performance by the deaf and hard of hearing teams, who were able to integrate sign language and lip-reading with programming languages and create highly efficient robots, in an experience that impressed the audience and the jury alike. Their participation came through the teams Falcon Eye, Smart Fox, Black OX and Dragon Fire, which succeeded in winning a number of awards in the areas of robot design, programming and operational performance.

Maha Nagy, Executive Vice President of the Public Relations, Media and Corporate Communications Sector at Orange Egypt, expressed the company’s pride in sponsoring these talents, saying, “Orange Egypt is proud of the role it plays in supporting the deaf and hard of hearing group, which has demonstrated exceptional potential and a real ability to innovate and compete. The success of these teams reflects the strength of will when the opportunity is available, and emphasizes the importance of empowering them and providing a supportive environment that allows them to unleash their energies.”

She added: “At Orange, we believe that technology is a bridge to provide opportunities for everyone without exception, and that is why we continue to invest in initiatives that support the integration and empowerment of people with special needs, especially in the fields of technology, programming and robotics, in a way that enhances their participation in the digital transformation process in Egypt. The achievements made by the participants today represent a clear message that they are active elements in society and able to compete locally and internationally.”

Orange’s sponsorship of these teams comes as an extension of its previous efforts to support the deaf and hard of hearing community, including the launch of the “Shower” service, which provides direct communication via video calls with employees specialized in sign language in the company’s branches, in addition to preferential packages and services aimed at enhancing digital inclusion for this group.

Sami Jameel, founder of the Asdaa Association for the Advancement of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, praised the efforts to support this segment, stressing that the empowerment programs contributed to providing advanced educational opportunities for participants and specialized scholarships in programming, robotics, and electronics, which enabled them to prove their abilities and integrate into new professional paths.

The participating teams provide distinguished levels of performance thanks to the training they receive from trainers in the same category, which enhances their confidence and motivates them to develop their skills. This was clearly demonstrated in the results they achieved during the tournament, which reflected their commitment and passion for advanced technology.

Orange Egypt affirms its continued support of community initiatives that promote inclusion and innovation, and empowering the groups most in need of access to all technological tools and services, as this is an essential part of its social responsibility and its role as an active partner in supporting sustainable development in Egypt.
