Discovering football talent in the Middle East

This inspection tour took place at the headquarters of the sports stadium in the city of Kharga, to see the final touches in the qualifiers for one of the largest football talent discovery programs in the Middle East, amid an atmosphere of enthusiasm that dominated hundreds of young people dreaming of wearing the shirts of major Egyptian clubs.

The events were attended by Dr. Mahmoud Saad, former Zamalek club star and head of the program’s higher committee, along with Ali Najah, head of the Kharga Center, and Mohamed Fikri Younes, director general of youth and sports in the governorate, where the committee reviewed the initial results of the tests that continued over the past days.

During his field tour, the governor was briefed on the finer details of the final qualifiers, which were carried out with wide participation from applicants who came from the five different centers of the governorate (Kharga, Dakhla, Farafra, Paris, and Balat). The emerging players were evaluated according to precise technical and physical standards set by the program’s higher committee, to ensure fairness and transparency in selection.

The final results resulted in the selection of the best 25 players from New Valley to join the advanced stages of the program. It is scheduled that coordination will be made to host them at the headquarters of the “Capitano Egypt” Academy during the month of next April, where they will undergo an intensive preparation and training program under the supervision of an elite group of senior coaches in Egypt, in preparation for their optimal qualification and opening the horizons of professional contracts with Egyptian clubs, which will put them on the first path to stardom.

At the conclusion of his tour, Major General Muhammad Al-Zamlot expressed his great appreciation for the efforts made by those in charge of the program and the evaluation committees, stressing that the governorate is full of talents that only need care and spotlight.

The governor directed to study contracts with Egyptian experts specialized in the arts of football training, to provide advanced training courses aimed at refining the skills of the governorate’s local coaches.

Al-Zamlot stressed that improving the sports system in the New Valley begins with qualifying training cadres, especially in the youth sector and all age levels, to ensure the sustainability of breeding football talents capable of competing at the national and international levels. Emphasis was placed on providing all facilities for coaches and players within the youth centers and clubs in the governorate.
