The Secretary of the Iranian Defense Council confirmed that the course of negotiations with Washington may move towards positive results, if they are conducted on realistic grounds and without putting forward demands that he described as excessive, stressing that Tehran prefers political solutions based on mutual respect.

He explained, according to Cairo News, that the ongoing diplomatic movement in the region aims to strengthen political paths and reduce levels of tension, which contributes to supporting regional stability and avoiding escalation.

At the same time, the Iranian official warned that his country would respond forcefully and decisively to any move or adventure that would threaten its national security, stressing that Iran’s defense capabilities are not up for negotiation.

The Secretary of the Iranian Defense Council stressed that missile systems represent a red line and cannot be included in any discussions, indicating Tehran’s adherence to its defense program as part of its sovereignty and national security.

Negotiations between Iran and the United States

Earlier, Trump confirmed his country’s desire to reach an agreement with Tehran, expressing his belief in the possibility of concluding an agreement within the next month.

He indicated that negotiations represent the preferred option, but warned that failure to reach an agreement would push the United States to adopt another option, without revealing its details.

Trump stressed the need for Iran to take the initiative to conclude an agreement, warning that failure to do so would lead to a catastrophic situation.
