Defense of the second accused in the Dakahlia Governorate driver case: My client is a medical student and the driver works for his family during vacations

Ibrahim Maaden said, during exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that his client is a student at the Faculty of Medicine and has a relationship with the driver who is the first accused in the incident because he works as a driver for his family during his days off from the governorate.

Ibrahim Maaden confirmed that the arrest warrant was initially issued to the first accused, who is the governor’s driver, for his involvement in the crime of trafficking in narcotic drugs, and that his client was arrested because he happened to be with the accused driver.

Ibrahim Maaden explained that the accused driver admitted before the investigation authorities that there was no connection between the second accused and trafficking in narcotic drugs.

Maaden pointed out that there is a suspicion of bringing narcotic drugs to the accused driver, in addition to accusing him of trafficking in them, given that there were conversations between him and the father of the second accused, who resides in Italy, and that the competent authorities are still conducting their investigations into the incident.

Investigations conducted by the General Department of Narcotics Control revealed that the accused distributed drugs to a number of users within the governorate, where their activities were monitored after careful follow-up and continuous monitoring by drug control men.

The operation resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of drugs worth about 3 million pounds, and the seized items were seized in preparation for submitting them to the Public Prosecution to complete investigations.
