Dr. Nazir Ayyad, the Mufti of the Republic, answered a question he received from a citizen, which read: I know that God Almighty urged us to be grateful for a blessing. Is rain one of the blessings for which a servant is required to thank his Lord? How do we thank this blessing?
Mufti reveals how to thank God for the rain
The Mufti said on Dar’s official website FatwaRain is one of the blessings of God Almighty that require gratitude, and gratitude for it is done by rejoicing in it, and then the person acts based on this joy. This action either relates to the heart and intends goodness and harbors it for all of creation, or it relates to the tongue and expresses gratitude through the praises that indicate it, or to the limbs and uses the grace of God Almighty in obedience to Him and avoids disobedience with it.
Dr. Nazir Ayad, the Mufti of the Republic, continued: The servant rejoices in the blessing of rain, and he must know that everything is from Him alone, Glory be to Him. There is no agent in this universe in truth other than God, so he acts according to this knowledge and attributes credit to Him, the Almighty, as thanks to him for this blessing, and to pray to his Lord, asking Him to make this rain beneficial to the servants and the country, and to be exposed to the rain on the condition that he is safe from harm, by standing under it, in order for something to befall him from it, hoping for blessing.
