According to Hebrew media reports, Eden, 52 years old, was found after her brother began searching for her after she lost contact and did not respond to messages, before the police found her body inside the hotel.

Security sources reported that the Greek police began investigating the incident, and decided to subject the body to a medical autopsy to determine the cause of death, in addition to examining surveillance camera recordings and listening to testimonies from hotel workers.

In this context, Reuters quoted the police as saying that preliminary investigations are treating the death as a possible suicide, after medicinal tablets were found at the scene of the accident, despite the coroner’s report indicating the presence of bruises in the neck area.

For its part, the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation issued an obituary statement in which it expressed its deep sadness over Eden’s passing, stressing that she was one of the most prominent influential figures in the television drama industry in Israel, and contributed to the production of a large number of prominent works that left a clear impact on the media scene.

The statement confirmed that Eden traveled to Greece specifically to continue filming the new season of the series “Tehran,” which is shown on the Apple TV+ platform, and achieved global success and won the International Emmy Award.

In light of the circulating rumors on social media claiming that there was criminal suspicion or political motives for the incident related to Iranian involvement in her killing, the production company categorically denied these allegations, confirming that there were no indications of the involvement of external parties, and calling on the media to be responsible and respect the privacy of the deceased’s family at this sensitive time.

It is noteworthy that the choice of Athens as an alternative filming location for the city of Tehran came after a previous visit by Eden to Greece, where she saw a visual similarity between the two cities, especially in light of the restrictions that prevent Israelis from traveling to Iran.

Dana Eden, in partnership with producer Shula Spiegel, presented more than 40 dramatic and documentary works, making her one of the prominent names in the Israeli television industry in recent years.
