Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, confirmed that moving ministries and government agencies to the New Administrative Capital clearly contributed to achieving a traffic breakthrough and reducing pressure and congestion on the capital’s streets during the recent period.

Expanding the establishment of new cities

The Governor of Cairo explained, in statements to Cairo 24, that the expansion of the establishment of new cities, led by the Administrative Capital, played a pivotal role in reducing traffic densities and accommodating the population increase, noting that the cities of New Cairo, Badr, Shorouk, and 10th of Ramadan all contributed to reducing the burden on Cairo.

The governor added that the departure of the ministries from the downtown areas had a direct impact in reducing traffic congestion and restoring a measure of discipline to the main streets. The Administrative Capital became one of the strategic solutions to address the congestion crisis and improve the quality of life within Cairo.

The Governor of Cairo concluded: The expansion of the establishment of new cities, led by the Administrative Capital, along with the cities of New Cairo, Badr, Shorouk, and 10th of Ramadan, contributed to reducing traffic densities and absorbing a large part of the pressure on the capital, pointing out that moving ministries from the downtown areas had a direct impact in reducing traffic congestion and restoring a measure of discipline to the main streets.
