Major General Khaled Shuaib, Governor of Matrouh, today, Sunday, as part of the governorate’s National Day celebrations, inaugurated the development work of a number of health facilities and departments to develop the health system and improve the medical and therapeutic services provided to the people of Matrouh.

This came in the presence of Dr. Islam Rajab, Deputy Governor, Dr. Ahmed Refaat, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Helmy Agha, Undersecretary of the Directorate, and a number of leaders of the Health Directorate in the governorate.

The governor inaugurated the work of establishing a toxicology laboratory in the joint laboratory for the first time in the health history of the governorate, after providing and operating the GC/MS/MS toxicology device, at a cost exceeding 12 million pounds.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Matrouh explained that the device features unparalleled analytical capabilities to detect complex chemicals with high accuracy, which makes it an indispensable tool in modern toxicology laboratories.

The audiology unit and referral center for the President’s Initiative for early detection and treatment of hearing impairment and loss in newborns were also opened.
