Lieutenant General Abdel Majeed Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, witnessed the main phase of the joint training “Medusa-14”, in the presence of Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Khobis, Chief of the Greek Staff, Lieutenant General Emmanuel Theodorou, Commander of the Cypriot National Guard, Rear Admiral Mansour bin Saud Al-Jaid, Commander of the Saudi Western Fleet, commanders of the main branches, a number of senior leaders of the Egyptian Armed Forces, countries participating in the training, and a number of attaches. Military personnel, media professionals, and students of military colleges and institutes, whose activities continued for several days within the Mediterranean theater of operations, the Mohamed Naguib Military Base, and a number of air bases in the Arab Republic of Egypt, with the participation of elements of the Egyptian, Greek, Cypriot, Saudi, and French naval and air forces and special forces.
The activities of the stage began with a presentation of the activities that were carried out during the various stages of training. The right to visit and search a suspected ship, and search and rescue work, were also carried out, as well as carrying out defense work against surface threats by carrying out surface artillery firing with various calibres, in addition to carrying out the attack on Maadi Beach through members of the Special Forces by sea landing and parachuting, and carrying out air strikes against planned targets on the coast using multi-mission aircraft. The activities concluded with the naval units implementing a number of sailing formations, and carrying out The parachute forces performed a friendship jump with the flags of the participating countries. The training activities were carried out with high efficiency despite the bad weather conditions, which reflects the level of readiness and professionalism of the forces participating in the training.
At the end of the stage, Lieutenant General Abdel Majeed Saqr conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the attendees, welcoming them to their second country, Egypt, stressing that the joint training “Medusa” is one of the most important joint exercises carried out by the Egyptian Armed Forces with their counterparts from brotherly and friendly countries, and that the goal of the training is to exchange experiences and learn about the latest combat tactics between the participating countries.
While the leaders of the countries participating in the training praised the outstanding performance achieved by the forces while carrying out their various combat missions and their ability to carry out joint work with professionalism and high precision.
