Counselor Hisham Badawy referred the president House of Representatives A number of draft laws submitted by Council members to the specific committees.
This came during the general session of the House of Representatives today.
The referrals were as follows:
1) A draft law submitted by Representative Mohamed Attia Al-Fayoumi and (60) representatives (more than a tenth of the number of council members) issuing the local administration law.
It was referred to a joint committee of the local administration, constitutional and legislative affairs, and plan and budget committees.
Local administration and student unions, the House of Representatives refers 3 draft laws to specific committees
2) A draft law submitted by Representative Ahmed Fathi and (60) representatives (more than a tenth of the Council’s members) issuing a law regulating the work of student unions in schools.
3) A draft law submitted by Mr. Representative Ahmed Fathi and (60) representatives (more than a tenth of the number of council members) issuing a law regulating the work of student unions in universities.
They were referred to a joint committee from the committees of education and scientific research, constitutional and legislative affairs, plan and budget, and youth and sports.
It is noteworthy that the plenary session of the House of Representatives has begun, headed by Counselor Hisham Badawi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, which is scheduled to witness the discussion of the draft law submitted by the government amending some provisions of Law No. 127 of 1980 promulgating the Military and National Service Law.
The amendment to the Military Service Law aims to add terrorist operations as an additional criterion for exemption from military service in both its final and temporary states, in appreciation of the sacrifices of the men of the armed forces and the police in military or terrorist operations and the damage caused to innocent civilian citizens, taking into account the humanitarian and social dimension of the Egyptian people.
